Sad Day for Democracy
Bristol City Council had a Full Council meeting last night to agree the budget for the forthcoming year and to essentially rubber stamp the 28 million pounds worth of cuts. The Council is currently led by the Liberal Democrats, so it was with great sadness as I do not understand why they didn't allow a public forum to shape the debate. Why when feelings became understandably high the response was to eject people and then ultimately close and eject all the public from the Public Gallery. Labour Party walked out with the public so after an adjournment it was agreed we could be allowed back in. As long as we behaved. What did the Lib Dems do in debate over issues of meals for the elderly, increase in PCSO's well someone snapped them, and was told off for doing so but see attached Pic as yawning and telling the public to shut up was not the best political move by some the Lib Dem and Tory Councillors.

Bristolians take to the streets to protest about the cuts
It was a grand sight this saturday 19th to see so many people waking up to the horror these cuts to Public Sector actually mean and demonstrating peacefully against them.
